Menton lemons and La Belle Époque
And a teaser for the new Lemon book from Taschen and The Gourmand
Dear Lemonista,
Welcome to your latest edition of The Lemon Grove. This issue we’re looking at the annual Menton Lemon festival. Held across late February and early March, the festival celebrates a different theme each year, with the world-famous citrus fruit sculptures. This year, the theme reflects the upcoming Paris Olympics, while in previous years, visitors enjoyed Bollywood, Rock & Opera, Regions of France and Long Live Spain. Form, it’s a wonderful time of year to escape the gloomy English weather, fly into Nice airport and spend a few days under crips blue skies of a seaside town on Cote d’Azur.
To wrap up, we share a recipe for a Sir Wiliam cocktail, made courtesy of Salcombe Gin.
Best wishes,
Bruce
But first … a fantastic new book on the king of citrus, the mighty lemon, has dropped through my letterbox. Published by the biannual food and culture journal The Gourmand and luxury art book publisher Taschen, the book is out now.
